Belts are measured differently to trousers/jeans. The belt size refers to the measurement from the tip of the buckle to the middle hole. Typically, you will need a belt 2 sizes above your waist size. For example, if you are a 100cm/40” waist, then order a 110cm/44” belt.
 
Another way to get the precise size, is to take the belt you are wearing now, and measure from the top of the buckle, to the hole you are using. That number will be the size you order.
